Since the late summer of 2021, the LWA Common Properties and Amenities Committee has been working with Hitchcock and Associates, a Chicago based landscape engineering firm, to develop a recreational use plan for the Shaw Creek area at the south end of the Lake Wildwood community. The area, which is a designated floodplain, provides a perfect spot for the creation of new recreational amenity that features trails, native plantings, natural outlooks, and places to stop and observe the abundance of nature that surrounds us here! The committee is also looking at the terrain in the area as a place to potentially create a new sledding hill that will help to make the location a full 12-month amenity for our members and guests to enjoy.
